What To Expect

Networking, but different.

Most mixers go the same way. Everyone asks what you do, half-listens to the answer, then looks past your shoulder for someone better. B2B Ball solves that with a basketball. tom talks solves it with a microphone. This night uses the second one.

The mic is open. A few guests get five minutes each to stand up and tell the room who they are. Not the pitch version. What you're building, what it's cost you, and the parts you still haven't figured out.

Nobody's booked ahead of time. You decide once you're there, and a lot of people don't know their answer until the mic is already open.

By the time the mic goes down you know something real about the people standing near you. That's a better place to start than a business card.

The Night, Start To Finish
6:00 – 7:30 PM

Happy hour

Doors open, drinks get poured, and there isn't a lanyard in sight. Come early if you can. It's the easiest hour to meet people, before the room fills up and the lights go down.

7:45 – 8:45 PM

Storytelling open mic

The lights drop and the mic opens. Whoever steps up gets five minutes to introduce themselves. The theme is the road to victory, which means the climb rather than the highlight reel. Twenty percent goal, eighty percent mountain.

Want the mic? Decide when you're standing there. Open mic style, limited spots, taken in the moment.

Networking social hour

This is the part people remember. You've just watched a room full of strangers be honest, so nobody has to bother with small talk. A five-minute story turns into a real conversation, and every so often into something that lasts.

Who's In The Room

Everyone here is building something.

Founders, marketers, creators, athletes, agency owners, engineers, investors and operators, drawn from sports, culture and business. The common thread is that they'd rather tell you something true than run an elevator pitch.

This Room Is Not For

You're not in anyone's funnel here.

  • the selfish and the takers.
  • the "so, what do you do?" person.
  • seeing the person beside you as a transaction.
  • collecting contacts instead of making friends.

Space is limited and every guest RSVPs individually. No plus ones, no walk-ins. Confirmed guests get the address by email a few days before the 28th.

Who's Behind It

Two rooms that already work, put together.

B2B Ball
Networking through basketball

Business has evolved, and networking should too. B2B Ball puts brand marketers, creators and deal makers on a court instead of in a conference room, then lets the relationships build from there. Four years of runs and events across the country, from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, Austin and New York.

Real stories. Small rooms. No pitches.

A gathering for founders and creators across New York, Los Angeles and Orange County. Every night carries one theme, and the stories are told once, in that room only. Not the highlight reel, the raw cut.

The Room

Two rooms that already work.

Neither of us is starting from scratch. B2B Ball has spent four years filling gyms, and tom talks has been filling living rooms and dinner tables. This is what happens when the two crowds end up in one place.
